In episode 1, we talk about one of my absolute favorite cocktails; The Gimlet. There have been many variations of its long existence. Here is the recipe for my personal favorite. What is yours?
2 oz. of Gin
1/2 oz. of Simple Syrup
1/2 Freshly Squeezed Lemon
1 Egg White
Smooth jazz is highly recommended to set a mood.
Start adding the egg white. If you are breaking and separating above your shaker, this allows you to remove any shell before you add the rest of your ingredients. Add gin, freshly squeezed lemon, and simple syrup to a shaker. Shake aggressively until the outside of the shake has started to condensate
(about 1 -3 minutes).
Shave off a piece of rind from the lemon and express the oils into the empty glass. For an added touch, swipe the lemon rind around the rim of the glass. Strain shaker contents into the glass and garnish with lemon (if you like). Sit back in your mid-century modern chair and sip-sip away.
